Buraimi here we come!
On this trip just across the UAE border, we will visit some mineral milky pools and a water-canyon in Buraimi, Oman.
What's so special about Buraimi you may ask?
Some of the region's more adventurous hikes lie on the other side of the Al Ain/Oman border, within the town of Buraimi Oman. The plains that run south of the Al Hajar Mountain foothills have high water-table levels due to rainwater. Trapped in the gravel plains, this area is named the ardh al-jaww (the open flat land) as it is constantly fed runoff from the Hajars.
Along with canyoning you will have the opportunity to explore caverns and spectacular rock formations naturally caused by its flowing waterways. Water levels encountered during the hike depend on yearly rainfall, so there are possibilities of the canyons containing low water-levels. After some deep water swimming and climbing, you will visit a special oasis that feeds the date trees and flows into the beautiful clear pools in the canyons below. Many of these treks include water pools, which are usually located near date farms, as the rainwater is used to sustain the farms all year round. Itinerary
9:00 AM: Meet at the Danat Resort hotel lower parking lot in Al Ain
9:30 AM: Arrive at the Khatm Al Shikla Border Crossing Post (Al Ain -Al Buraimi)
10:00 AM - 10:30 AM: Complete border crossing (UAE exit, visa and car insurance checks)
11:00 AM - 3:00 PM: travel and complete water canyon activity, then travel to mineral pool location for swim (possible detours along the way)
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Finish activities, arrive back to Al Ain Border
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM: Arrive back in Dubai

-Safety and personal responsibility
- Even though we are there as experienced guides, it is very important that everyone is responsible for their own safety and making sure that they bring the proper equipment, supplies and understand that like any physical activity, there is a certain amount of risk involved with this itinerary.
- Please make sure to sign our waiver and medical form before joining the event.
-Punctuality
- Since we are on a one-day trip sticking to our schedule is very important in order for us to have an enjoyable day. Update us on timings in case you're running late. We will wait a reasonable amount but will begin the trail if it’s too long of a gap.
-Traveling to Oman
- Be prepared for roaming packages with your phone if you need access to phone/internet during the trip.
- After reaching the border, we will first process our UAE exit pass before crossing over to the Oman side to start visa process. The lines can be long and the process can be a bit slow, so please be patient (can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours). Both E-Visa and Visa on arrival need to get out before the gates and go into the center to get their passports validated. If you have visa issues, there is a slight chance you may have to head back to Dubai apart from the group.

- If you are self-driving please make sure to check that you have Oman vehicle insurance and that you are the owner of the vehicle. If not a a No Objection Certificate is required from your bank or financial institution. If you do not drive, we can offer a shuttle service for an additional fee.

- Non-slip canyoning shoes / sturdy hiking water shoes
- 3+ Liters of water for travel days
- Snacks and light meals for travel and after activities

- Waterproof bag (small) for valuables during the canyoning section
