One of the highest peaks of the UAE , Jebel Al Bayd is in the Musfut area to the east of the country. Belonging to the Hajar mountain range it sits on the border of Oman and is only about an hour and half drive from Dubai.
We will walk past, and over rugged limestone terrain, weathered over many millennia exposing various sedimentary rock formations. The trail is mostly well marked but consists of uphill ascents and loose rocks. The route snakes around the mountain edge as it exposes dried riverbeds, deep gorges and dramatic limestone cliffs. Once we get to the top, the peak of our trail will offer picturesque and panoramic views of surrounding desert and local villages and towns.
The entire Masfoot area also holds archaeological importance and includes petroglyphs and holds a vital significance to UAE’s Bedouin history and culture.
