This is your first step towards summiting the highest mountain in Oman: Jebel Shams, aka, the “Grand Canyon” of the Middle East. Take the leap to a trekking journey and overnight adventure that will take you to stunning heights and awe-inspiring vistas. With rugged limestone terrain, deep-diving canyons, and majestic peaks, Jebel Shams offers outdoor enthusiasts the perfect playground for both discovery and adventure.
On Day 1 we will traverse Wasi Al Nakr and on Day 2 we will head towards Jebel Shams balcony for spectacular panaromic views.

Day 1: Wadi Al Nakr
5:00 AM: Depart from Dubai
7:00 AM: Meet at ADNOC before Mezyad Border (UAE Side)
8:00-9:00 AM: Complete border crossing (UAE exit, visa and car insurance checks)
9:30 AM - 1:30 PM: Travel to Jebel Shams (with stops for lunch and bathroom breaks) via, Ibri, Nizwa
2:00 - 5:30 PM: Explore Jebel Shams Balcony Walk trail, enjoy scenic viewpoints
6:00 - 6:30 PM: Set up camp at designated camping area
6:30 - 8:00 PM: Prepare dinner, relax by the campfire, stargazing
8:00 PM: Optional early bedtime or stargazing session
Day 2: Jebel Shams Balcony Walk
5:00 - 5:30 AM: Wake up, have breakfast, pack essentials for the summit hike, drive to starting point
6:00 AM: Start the summit hike to Jebel Shams’ peak
10:30 AM - 2.30 Ascend to the balcony, photos and rest before slowly making our way down
3:00 - 4:00 PM: Lunch
2:00 - 3:30 PM: Break camp, pack up belongings
3:30 - 7:30 PM: Begin journey back to Mezyad Border (via Nizwa)
8:30 - 9:30 PM: Complete border crossing procedures (Oman exit, UAE entry)
10:30 - 11:30 PM: Arrive back in Dubai

- If you are self-driving please make sure to check that you have Oman vehicle insurance and that you are the owner of the vehicle. If not a a No Objection Certificate is required from your bank or financial institution.
