Rak to Fujairah Traverse is a 3-day expedition linking some of the most iconic and technical sections of the Trans Emirates Trail, beginning deep in the canyons of Wadi Naqab and culminating in Fujairah. Participants will push through steep climbs, village remnants, limestone ridges, and overnight camping under the stars. The Rak to Fujairah traverse is a journey designed for highly experienced trekkers seeking a continuous multi-day test of endurance and skill, while being rewarded to some of the most spectacular views of the UAE mountains.
Push south along the Trans Emirates Trail, linking Segment 5 (RAK to Fujairah high passes), Segment 6 (ridge traverses into Fujairah wadis), and Segment 7 (final descent into Fujairah coastal mountains). Expect steep scrambles, ridge-line exposure, and scree slopes as you cross the borderlands of Ras al Khaimah into Fujairah, completing the 3-day traverse.
Day 1 and Day 2
Begin in Wadi Naqab’s Baqal area, climbing through abandoned terrace farms and stone houses toward Tala village. Camp overnight amidst the caves and cliffside ruins beneath Jebel Mebrah, the UAE’s 4th highest peak.
Day 3
From Sheria, head east across technical scree descents and limestone ridges around Taween. Scramble through sections of the Geotrek trail, with panoramic views of Fujairah’s ranges, before descending into Wadi Dahir.
