Wadi Ghalilah is the ultimate training hike in the UAE β a relentless mountain ascent designed to test endurance, resilience, and mental focus. Starting at Wadi Ghalilah Dam, the trail climbs steadily toward the upper slopes near the Jebel Jais road, delivering sustained elevation gain, exposed terrain, and classic Hajar Mountain scenery.
Built for strong hikers and expedition preparation, this route is long, steep, and unapologetically demanding β a true benchmark hike for those looking to push their limits.
Why This Hike?
This route is about performance, not shortcuts! Expect a steady grind upward, minimal shade, and a long descent that demands strong knees and focus. Trekking poles are highly recommended, and an early start is essential.
If youβre training for multi-day treks, high-altitude objectives, or simply want to experience one of the UAEβs most physically demanding hikes, this is the proving ground.
