Welcome to ECC Summer Sightseeing Hiking program. Wadi THaena Summer Hike is Beginner+ Trail, sighting the Jewels of the Country with minimal distance and elevation gain (instead of completing 9.2km + Distance with 300m Elevation Gain Wadi Thaena Intermediate Trail). However there is some 2.4km to reach to the Rock Formations.
To get to the hike there will be 2 KM dirt-road where most sedan and saloon car can access.
This hike graded to 4/10 (Beginner+ to Intermediate trail) after shortening the Distance but please make sure you are physically/mentally prepared to do up to the Rock Formations area as there are loose rock and boulder field with one scrambling point. The trail is exposing to the sun on the way out.
This nearly 5km trail offers geological formations with beautiful red-and-white striped which is a geological occurrence known as “Banded Iron Formations” (BIF).
