Buraimi Oman Water Canyoning Trip

Embark on a day trip to visit beautiful Buraimi, Oman: the land of water canyons and rolling hills! On this trip just across the UAE border, we will visit some mineral milky pools and a water-canyon. Some of the region’s more adventurous hikes lie just beyond the borders of Al Ain. The plains of Buraimi that run south of the Al Hajar Mountain foothills have high water-table levels due to rainwater. Trapped in the gravel plains, this area is named the ardh al-jaww (the open flat land) as it is constantly fed runoff from the Hajars.

The canyoning is relatively short (45 minutes into the ravine), though you will have the opportunity to explore caverns and surreal rock formations naturally caused by its flowing waterways. Water levels encountered during the hike depend on yearly rainfall, so there is always a possibility of the canyons containing water-levels lower than desirable. After some deep water swimming and climbing, you will visit a special oasis that feeds the date trees and flows into the beautiful clear pools of the canyon below. Many of these treks include water pools as well as date farms, both sustained annually by captured rainwater. Come join us for a wet and wild day-trip from the UAE.

6:00 AM: Meet at the Danat Resort hotel lower parking lot in Al Ain

6:30 AM: Arrive at the Khatm Al Shikla Border Crossing Post (Al Ain -Al Buraimi)

7:00 AM – 7:30 AM: Complete border crossing (UAE exit, visa and car insurance checks)

8:00 AM – 12:00 PM: travel and complete water canyon activity, then travel to mineral pool location for swim (possible detours along the way)

1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Finish activities, arrive back to Al Ain Border

3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Arrive back in Dubai

Overnight

7:00 AM: Leave Dubai
9:00 AM: Meet at the Danat Resort hotel lower parking lot in Al Ain
10:00 AM: Arrive the Khatm Al Shikla Border Crossing Post (Al Ain -Al Buraimi)
11:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Complete border crossing (UAE exit, visa and car insurance checks)

6:00 – 8:00 PM: Finish activities, head to the camping location, set up camp, prepare dinner
