1. What is the ECCA Spring Break Day and Overnight Adventure Camp?

The ECCA Spring Break Day and Overnight Adventure Camp is a fun-filled program designed for kids to enjoy outdoor activities, environmental education, personal development, and team-building exercises in a safe and supervised environment.

 

2. What age group is the camp suitable for?

The camp is broken up into three different weeks and age groups:

Week 1 (Spring Break, Monday, March 25th to Friday, March 29th): Ages 7-10
Week 2 (Spring Break, Monday, April 1st to Friday, April 5th): Ages 11-13 & 14-17
Week 3 (Eid Break, Monday, April 8th to Friday, April 12th): Family Camp (Parents and Children)

 

3. What activities can my child expect at the camp?

Your child will engage in a variety of activities including hiking, nature exploration, team-building games, environmental and cultural education sessions, and for those choosing the overnight, outdoor camping and storytelling around the campfire, and much more.

 

4. How are the children supervised during the camp?

We maintain a counselor to child ratio of 1:8 to ensure each child receives adequate supervision and attention throughout their time at camp. Our trained and experienced counselors are committed to the safety and well-being of all campers.

 

5. What measures are in place to ensure the safety of the children?

Safety is our top priority. We conduct thorough safety checks of all equipment and camp facilities before each session. Additionally, our staff are trained in first aid and emergency procedures. We also have strict protocols in place for activities such as hiking and camping to ensure the well-being of all participants.

 

6. Will my child have the opportunity to learn about the environment?

Yes, environmental education is an integral part of our program. Through interactive workshops, guided nature walks, and hands-on activities, children will learn about the importance of conservation, biodiversity, and sustainability.

 

7. How does the camp promote personal development and team building?

Our activities are designed to foster personal growth and teamwork. Through challenges, games, and group activities, children will develop valuable skills such as communication, leadership, problem-solving, and cooperation.

 

8. What should my child bring to the camp?

We provide a packing list prior to the camp session, which typically includes items such as comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor activities, sturdy hiking shoes, a sleeping bag, toiletries, sunscreen, insect repellent, a water bottle, and any necessary medications.

 

9. How do I register my child for the camp?

You can register your child online through our website or by contacting ECC Adventures’ office directly (info@eccadventures or WhatsApp +971558237687). Spaces are limited, so we recommend registering early to secure a spot.

 

10. Can parents visit the camp during the session?

While we encourage parents to support their children’s participation in the camp, we kindly ask that visits be kept to a minimum to maintain the integrity of the program and allow children to fully immerse themselves in the camp experience. However, we do organize parent orientation sessions before the start of each session to address any questions or concerns you may have.

 

11. What is ECCA’s policy for minor injuries such as cuts or scrapes?

At ECCA, our instructors are trained in first aid, and we always have a first aid kit available. We promptly treat minor injuries like grazes, scratches, cuts, and insect bites to ensure your child can quickly return to enjoying camp activities. We’ll inform you about any incidents when you collect your child.

 

12. What happens in the event of a major incident during camp?

In the rare case of a major incident, our counselors aim to resolve it within 30 minutes. If necessary, we’ll notify parents/guardians, our team, and local authorities. For major injuries, we immediately inform parents/guardians, and with consent, arrange transportation to the nearest medical facility.

 

13. What does it mean if there’s a waiting list when I try to book?

A waiting list forms when camp spots are full. You’ll be notified if a spot becomes available, based on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

14. What is ECCA’s refund/cancellation policy?

We offer a 100% refund or credit if you notify us 48 hours before the camp, and 50% refund/100% credit with 24 hours notice. Refunds aren’t available within 24 hours except in Extraneous Circumstances. Within 14 days of camp, no credit is offered, but you can transfer registration to another participant.

 

15. What are the drop-off times for camp?

Most camps have a drop-off time between 6:00 AM and 6:30 AM. Specific drop-off times will be mentioned in your confirmation via WhatsApp.

 

16. What if I’m late for pick-up?

Please arrive on time for pick-up. We’ll wait for a maximum of 30 minutes past drop-off time. Late pick-ups may incur a fee or require bringing the child to a partner facility for supervision.

 

17. What happens if it rains during camp?

We have alternative activities planned for rainy days but will aim to proceed with regular activities if safe. Please pack a rain jacket. In case of heavy rain, we may cancel activities and offer refund or credit options.

 

18. Can my non-swimmer child attend camp?

Yes, non-swimmers are welcome. We’ll ask for your child’s swimming ability during registration. During water activities, non-swimmers wear life jackets, and we closely monitor them. All staff are aware of and monitor non-swimmers during wet activities.
